A dog that barks too much or is too aggressive can be bothersome to neighbors and scary to visitors. If you receive constant complaints from your neighbors, friends, or relatives, you should do something about it. You really don’t want to wait until your dog gets you in legal problems because of the way it behaves. That’s the reason why you should get a shock collar. No, a shock collar is not harmful to your pet. In fact, most shock collars that are sold in the market today only deliver minor jolts of static to your pet.
The Invisible Fence
If your dog is so active that you need to tie it up to keep it from running away or jumping at people, you might want to get an electronic fence installed. How does the electronic dog fence work? The electronic fence prevents your dog from crossing certain boundaries. To activate the electronic fence, you bury a cable on the limits you want to set for your dog, make your dog wear the shock collar that comes with the system and then turn both of them on. If your dog tries to cross the limits you set for it, the shock collar will deliver a small static shock to the dog’s neck. The shocks will continue as long as your dog tries to cross the fence so your dog won’t be able to cross it. After your dog understands that it can’t go beyond certain limits and stays within the allocated area, you can remove the shock collar.
The Barking Collar
The bark collar is used by many dog owners who live near other people. This collar can detect through sensors the movement that your dog’s throat makes when it barks, as opposed to other types of neck movement. If your dog starts to bark, then the collar will correct it with a small static electricity discharge. The electric impulses produced by some types of bark collars can be a bit strong so you may hear your dog yelp a little when it receives the shock. If your dog yelps, don’t worry or feel alarmed. Your dog won’t be hurt or injured or scarred for life just because it got a sudden small static shock, specially because a dog’s skin is thicker than a human’s. Besides, once your dog stops barking, the collar will also stop jolting your dog.
The Training Shock Collar
This is yet another type of shock collar, one that is activated by remote control. It comes with a remote control and if your dog disobeys you, you press the button on it and the collar will deliver the shock.
