The dog is mainly a carnivorous creature and is a domesticated type of the class of Gray wolf. Dogs being extremely reliable are able to perform all these functions (subject to their kind) with total ease and to the entire pleasure of their masters.

There are more than 400 million dogs in the earth today as stated by a survey! There are hundreds of breeds which are markedly dissimilar in their actions as well as morphology. With all of the differences and various aspects associated with each specific breed, there is no way to end up with two of the same dog. Each specimen will be totally unique, as the permutations that guide the number of dogs out there allow for nearly an infinite number of different dogs. A lot of these breeds have been cultivated by human beings maintaining certain actions and characters in mind. As the male of the species is known as a dog the female is referred to as a bitch. The small ones are known as a litter. The father is referred to as sire and the mother is referred to as the dam. The offspring are tenderly identified as pups or puppies.

Dogs are known to have been domesticated around 15000 years ago and in the wild they used to exist in sets. They have a complex set of behavioral characteristics which establishes the dog’s position in their “social ladder”. Dogs also have various postures and non oral contacts like barks, growls etc to show the state of their minds. Scientists think that these intricate communication and social structure might be the cause for dogs being so simply coachable, bouncy and their slick ability to adjust to various situations connected with man.
